Our Congregational Fellowship Committee plans social events throughout the year. There are dinners, luncheons, tea parties all planned for our church family to gather and celebrate together. The committee sponsors an Easter Egg Hunt yearly for the children of the church. Following are groups who meet and serve the church as a part of the Congregational Fellowship Ministry.
Presbyterian
Women: This title actually includes all the women of the
church whether they belong to an established Circle or not. These
women support the mission of the church through service projects,
including women’s circles, study groups, fellowship opportunities,
social gatherings and fund-raising projects. Circles meet for Bible
Study each month in various places including members’ homes
or at the church. Presbyterian Women sponsor the annual Christmas
Dinner, Operation Christmas Child and the Holiday Bazaar among other
worthwhile projects during the year.
Sixty
Plus and Minus Club: This group is open to all adults.
They meet for a shared dinner and program once a month, September
through June at 5:30 pm in Fellowship Hall. They are presently meeting
the third Monday of the month
Brown
Baggers: This fellowship group gets their name from their
lunch bags and meets every Wednesday at 11:30 am in the Library.
Soft
Doll Workshop and Sewing Circle: A fellowship of ladies
that meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9:00 am until noon at church making
slippers, robes, pillows, placemats and dolls of all shapes and
sizes distributed to needy persons in hospitals, nursing homes,
orphanages and at Christmas to families specified by Social Service
Agencies.
George’s
Toy Shop: A group of volunteers meet Wednesday mornings
from 8:30 to 11:00 am at the Christian Activity Center to make wooden
toys for underprivileged children. These are distributed at Christmas
to children identified by Social Service Agencies.
Pumpkin Harvest: Many members work from noon until dark for two weeks prior to Halloween selling pumpkins and other fall decorations to raise funds for church and school projects. We will celebrate our seventh Pumpkin Harvest in October 2007. Our MSPC Schools will sponsor the Pumpkin Harvest for 2007.
Fall Festival: The Fall Festival takes place on a Saturday in October, during the Pumpkin Harvest. Our MSPC Schools and church collaborate to celebrate Fall with booths of crafts, food, gifts, games and entertainment for kids of all ages. |
